About
Who runs Checked Facts
Checked Facts is the publisher of Preschool Roster, CDL School Shortlist and Private School Shortlist. It is a wing of Valyou LLC.
Why we exist
We gather the facts from many official sources into one place so your search is easier.
Choosing a preschool, a truck driving school or a private school means hunting through state registers, federal lists and program spreadsheets, each on a different website, each in its own words. The facts are public, but they are scattered.
We bring them onto one page per provider, in plain words, and keep the link back to every record. Then you can check any fact yourself, on the day you need it.
How the work is done
Our pages are compiled with automated tools from official records. A person checks changes to a listing's name, address or program status before they show, and a person reads every correction request. We do not rate providers, and we do not claim a panel of experts.
What we are, and what we are not
We are
- A publisher of directoriesEach one gathers official records on one subject into pages you can search.
- IndependentWe are not affiliated with any agency or program whose records we use.
- Open about our methodEvery fact shows its source and the date we checked it.
We are not
- A government websiteWe use public records; we do not speak for the agencies that keep them.
- A news or political fact-checker“Checked” is about listings and records, not claims, people or politics.
- A ratings agencyWe do not issue ratings or scores of our own.
- A registryOur listings start from registries and lists that agencies keep. We are not one of them.
Money
How the sites are paid for
Listings are free. No provider pays us today.
Once paid placement opens, a provider will be able to pay for a place in a separate block on its city page. That block is always labeled “Featured”, shows at most three providers at a time, and rotates when more have paid.
Paying never changes a listing's details, its checks, or where it appears in the main list. And paying never buys a change to someone else's listing.
